In the days before I walked out of my home for the last time and flew to South America on the beginning of my new life’s journey, several friends and people in the cancer community asked me to blog about my upcoming adventures. I was a reluctant writer however, because the purpose of my solo journey was to rediscover my own heart, and I did not want to be obligated to provide regular content updates. After hearing of these multiple requests, a dear friend of mine offered to quickly create a simple blog space for me to experiment with and have fun. I was out of excuses, so I decided to give it a try.
As my experiences on the road began to unfold, I started to write. The very low tech blog page allowed me to share a couple stories of meaningful encounters I had on my journey, and also a few silly situations I stumbled into quite by accident. As time passed and my nomadic rambles continued, more and more interesting and inspirational events began to happen. I wanted to share these insights and stories, and this is when I began to find my voice.
As I documented these experiences, my curiosity was pulling my content in many directions. Conventional wisdom states that a blogger needs to “Find Their Niche” and only write about one topic matter. That was not going to happen! For example, I was traveling to some absolutely beautiful places and I have written about several of them. But while doing this, I realized that my calling was not to be just another travel writer or nomad lifestyle self-promoting entrepreneur writing guides and selling tours.
I might do a bit of that, but I was being called to share more, to share something different.
If I was going to be an unconventional creator, I needed a site that could support my diverse content. So, I am upgrading my simple blog to a design that could better feature the varied stories and would be a better experience for the readers.
I am excited about the new site. Its design is clean, easy to navigate and nothing like my insanely clouded mind! I hope you will click on the link below to get an email update on when the new site launches!
The new blog site is scheduled to GO LIVE in Summer 2020.
